"Do This" Million-Hour All Nations Prayer Movement
"Men can Pray to God" Evangelistic Meeting for the Elderly
(Afternoon, 30 March 2005)

Not only does prayer bring forth many life testimonies, it can also serve as a pit stop in life, or a way out in the midst of difficulties. "Men can Pray to God" is indeed an eye-opening message. At 3pm on March 30, the committee for the "Do This" Million-Hour All Nations Prayer Movement held a "Men can Pray to God" evangelistic meeting for the elderly at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The attendance was close to 4,000 and most of them were elderly.

During the meeting a performance was made by a Chinese opera singer. His singing resounded throughout the meeting hall and many participants followed as they sang the songs.

The message was delivered by Mrs. Chan, General Secretary of Jireh Fund. She described ways where we could know God better in the midst of difficulties. Through many testimonies we know it is blessed to have the Mighty One as our refuge. Life will end some day. She said we should make sure we know where to go when we leave the world. She encouraged the elderly to take the correct path by following Jesus; otherwise there would be nowhere to go and they would end up in hell. Next, Mrs. Chan invited those who accepted Jesus to be their Savior to pray together. After prayer they waved the paper fan that was already prepared. Over ninety percent of the participants immediately waved their fans and the meeting hall became a sea of fans. We were moved as we witnessed the amazing and great work of our God.

A few days after the evangelistic meeting ended, an old gentleman from an elderly home called the Campus Crusade for Christ and said he wanted to believe in Jesus and asked for assistance from the staff. This old gentleman did not attend the evangelistic meeting, but his wife was at the meeting. Later on the staff at Campus Crusade for Christ visited the old gentleman and explained to him the message delivered in the evangelistic meeting. The staff also brought the paper fan, prayer handbook (big character version) and mushrooms when they visited him. He was very touched and called the staff at Campus Crusade for Christ to discuss about his faith after seeing the phone number on the paper fan. They talked about the Christian faith and in the end he made the decision to accept Christ. We give thanks for the amazing work of our Lord. Hallelujah!
