After the "Love and Harmony of God" prayer conference has ended, the "Men can Pray to God" evangelistic meeting followed.
Even before the meeting began, there were already long lines of crowd awaiting entry outside the meeting hall. The entire meeting hall was packed and all 4,000 seats were filled. Additional seats needed to be added outside the hall but they were all filled as well. The worship team led the audience for a time of worship. After that, a married couple shared about their youngest son's battle against cancer. A video was shown about the birth, upbringing and journey of battling cancer. During the final days of his life, he confessed that out of childlike faith that Jesus is the son of God. He was later baptized. The couple shared about their inner struggles, weaknesses and pains as parents.
Unfortunately, the wife fell into a state of depression after spending endless hours caring for her son. Although their child passed away at last, the couple experienced through prayer that God was concerned of their fear and anxiety. At first, their son was very much afraid of being admitted into the hospital. If the son passed away at home, the husband worried that he might not have sufficient courage to take his body to the hospital. On the other hand, those who died of blood cancer usually have difficult looks on their faces due to reaction from the skin. What was most surprising was that their son agreed to be admitted into the hospital during his weakest moment. On the stage the couple sang the same song that was sung during the son's final moments at the hospital. In the end the son left peacefully and with a smile, and his face had recovered from the skin disease. The death of their son broke their hearts; however, they remained hopeful for they knew their son was at rest with the Heavenly Father and that they would one day reunite in heaven.
Dr. Philemon Choi delivered the message during the meeting. He said that the abundance of our life does not depend on its length. The experience of the couple's son testified the following: "blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Mt. 5:8). He said that we needed to return to a childlike faith in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. The once separated relationship between man and God could now begin afresh through prayer. Even in the midst of hardships, we can experience the peace and joy given by God that transcend all understanding.
In the end, Dr. Choi made the invitation and surprisingly many people responded by walking up to the stage and made their decision to accept Christ. Certain Christian media described the phenomenon as comparable to that in a book fair. The new converts flooded the front of the stage and some even had to stand on it. The 700 new believer's packs were almost all distributed. Mrs. Chan, General Secretary of Jireh Fund, led a prayer of decision for the new believers at the stage area. A pastor gave the benediction and the evangelistic meeting came to a close. May all glory be given to God!
